Impeachment is not the end...

The 20-3 verdict rendered by the Senate/Impeachment Court against Chief Justice Corona yesterday is not the end. Hopefully, it is the beginning of many things. To name a few: 1. purging the government of corrupt officials (and many of the basis for doing so have been revealed during the impeachment proceedings) 2. encouraging transparency among government officials (hopefully starting with waivers on disclosure of assets and liabilities) 3. greater citizens participation in pursuing investigations and filing cases against corrupt government officials (i hope the anticorruption crusaders were greatly inspired by the conviction) We've only just begun fortifying and strengthening our democratic institutions. Make them work for the people.
